Hauppauge HD PVR Gaming Edition 2, aka the HDPVR2, is the new model of the HDPVR, the hugely popular, gizmo for recording gameplay from game consoles.
In this video Blunty tears down the HD PVR2 review style & thoroughly tests it with lots of sample & example footage from tests with the the Xbox360, Ps3, Wii, iPhone, iPad, Cameras, Windows PC Steam games & more…
My Unboxing is here; youtube.com…
News from Hauppauge there’s a new Driver update ( V1.0.30268 ) that fixes the Wii Virtual Console issue I mentioned.
The Engineers are also working on fixing the (easily avoidable) glitch that occurs when recording a game menu then into game play (with resolution change) they are aware of it and are looking into but, it’s a difficult problem to solve as the unit would need to do a resolution shift while maintaining the video recording capturing…. without corrupting the file… and it’s much tricker than it sounds. But the good news is, they’re still working hard to make the HDPVR2 even better :)
There is also some third party MAC compatible software available (for about $30 from http://www.hdpvrcapture.com/
