MORTAL KOMBAT “BANNED” – $110,000 FINE FOR IMPORTING
MORTAL KOMBAT was effectively Banned in Australia when the Classifications board tagged it “refused classification”, Warner Brothers Interactive Entertainment Australia then appealed the decision but the board kept the original decision “Refused Classification”
Sites are now reporting that Australian Customs will seize any copies being imported and those who try to import it could get fined “up to $110,000”.
Also, the Australian Law Reform Commission is having a full review of the classification system this year. Stay positive, campaign sensibly for real change to help keep the rights of adults to choose AND protect children from material that slips through to a M15+ rating that SHOULD be an Adults ONLY rating.
